Where are the people? Why doesn’t anyone want to go to work? There is not one day where I haven’t seen a post about a popular restaurant having to close for a day because staff not showing up or a covid exposure. I’ve never seen this before.
Deep breaths, Jenny! Or I guess I should say, let’s ALL take a deep collective breath.
GUEST POST: The Souper Walk…a Favorite Day of My Year!
This year’s walk to raise awareness and money for The Zadie Project took place on Saturday, Sept 25. This year 25 people joined me for “a leg” of the walk and we raised over $10,000. I certainly could not have done this alone, and I am so grateful for everyone’s efforts. As much as I love raising money, the highlight for me each year is the time shared with total strangers…strangers who are caring and kind.

Never Give Up...
It’s been a little over a month since I was climbing a mountain in Idaho for the 29029 Everesting event. My trip to Idaho in June was my third attempt at the red hat and I did not finish. I was one of the last two people on the mountain when time ran out. My welcome at the top from the other participants was enough to make me feel accomplished and happy with what I achieved.
Then it began.
The tiny whisperings in my brain letting me know that I still had unfinished business.
Back at it: My 29029 Adventure
If you’ve followed my adventures outside of the restaurant, you know I’m a bit of a wanna-be athlete. I loved sports in my younger years, but was terrible at all of them. I was pretty uncoordinated in my youth, but my love of watching athletes pursue greatness has never waned.

Well, the first trip was life changing, super fun, full of kindness and love and tears and laughter and more sewer dumps than I’d care to remember. Things blossomed out of that trip that Jenny and I are both continuing to nurture.
