Did you know that  28.2% of children in Georgia don’t always know where they will find their next meal?  How about the fact that the rate of food insecurity among seniors has  increased 68% in the last ten years? Access to healthy, nutritious food is at an all time low in our state and it’s time to get involved. We plan to help change the face of hunger in our community.

Welcome to The Zadie Project

The Zadie Project is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that is already feeding Atlanta’s hungry children, families and seniors. I chose the name to honor my father, Jarvin Levison who is known as Zadie (yiddish for grandfather). He is my inspiration for cooking and my motivation for getting involved in my community. He also gave me my very first soup recipe, My Dad’s Turkey Chili. In our 18 year history, it is still our most popular soup.

Souper Jenny is a founding sponsor of The Zadie Project. Starting on December 1st, 2016, for every bowl of My Dad’s Turkey Chili purchased at any of our cafés, we have donated a nutritious meal to an Atlanta family in need.  Our initiative is to serve the immediate need of our community by growing, cooking, and delivering fresh and wholesome food to people who don’t have funds or access. Our goal is to provide two thousand meals weekly. Today, Souper Jenny employees and volunteers are responsible for cooking and delivering the soup to those in need.
