Welcome to The Zadie Project

“Nourishing Our Community, One Bowl at a Time”

The Zadie Project is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization feeding Atlanta’s hungry children, families and seniors. I chose the name to honor my father, Jarvin Levison who is known as Zadie (yiddish for grandfather). He was my inspiration for cooking and my motivation for getting involved in my community. He also gave me my very first soup recipe, My Dad’s Turkey Chili. In our 24-year history, it is still our most popular soup.

Souper Jenny is a founding sponsor of The Zadie Project. Starting on December 1st, 2016, for every bowl of My Dad’s Turkey Chili purchased at any of our cafés, we have donated a nutritious meal to an Atlanta family in need.  Our initiative is to serve the immediate need of our community by growing, cooking, and delivering fresh and wholesome food to people who don’t have funds or access. Our goal is to provide 2000 meals weekly. As of September, 2025, we have donated over 200,000 quarts of soup!! Today, Souper Jenny employees and volunteers are responsible for cooking and delivering the soup to those in need.

How can you help? Get more information below. You can also donate to The Zadie Project at any of our four Souper Jenny locations or online below!

INTRODUCING The Zadie Table

A table is more than a place to eat. It's where we gather, connect, celebrate, and care for one another.

The Zadie Table was created for people who believe that no one in our community should face hunger alone.

By joining The Zadie Table with an annual gift of $1,000, you become part of a dedicated group of 100 supporters helping The Zadie Project expand its mission of fighting food insecurity across Atlanta. Your membership directly supports programs that provide nourishment, dignity, and hope to individuals and families in need.
